Kia Motors Will Launch K7 Hybrid “700h” on December 16

Updated: Kia mades debut in a launch event at The-K Seoul Hotel on Monday.

Kia Motors announced on December 2 that its accepting pre-orders for its new Hybrid K7 version that will be launched on December 16th. The South Korean carmaker decided to call as “700h” the new K7 Hybrid. The powertrain is a combination of the 2.4 MPi Theta II gasoline engine with Atkinson cycle and the 35-kW (46 hp) electric engine.

[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:15px;”]The new Hybrid model’s maximum output is 159 hp with a maximum torque of 21.0 kg.m. As the new model is a Hybrid car, its fuel efficiency is more than 40 percent higher than that of the comparable gasoline model. The 2.4-liter gasoline engine on the Kia K7 model (automatic transmission) has the fuel economy of 11.3 kilometers per liter (27 MPG) while the new 700h boasts 16.0 km per liter (38 mpg).

In addition to the K7 Hybrid, Kia Motors has also launched the K5 Hybrid with the model name of the “500h.” Its fuel efficiency is 16.8 km per liter (40 mpg). The company will offer a special promotion of 500,000-won gas coupons during the month of December to those buyers the hybrid cars.

“The release of our premium midsize to large hybrid, the K7 Hybrid 700h, will represent Kia Motor’s vision to be a leader in eco-friendly cars and prove to be the answer to consumers’ demand for smoothness, comfort and fuel efficiency, to exist all in one package” said company’s spokeman.

The retail price of the K7 Hybrid 700h is 34.4 million won for Luxury and 35.95 million won for Prestige variety, while that of the K5 Hybrid 500h is 28.93 million won for Luxury, 30.25 million won for Prestige, and 32.1 million won for Noblesse.
