Hyundai Motor Co. unveiled today its new Santa Fe tuning SUV “TUIX Edition” for the South Korean local market. The tuning package is offered with two engines, both diesel, 2.0-liter  and 2.2-liter from the CRDi aluminum R-Engine family, delivering 184 and 200hp.

It has front, rear and side skirts all designed to disperse air flowing under the car so as to improve traction. It dons a stylish waistline molding, new plates, Sport Suspension kit and 19-inch tires with two-tone OZ wheels.

The company added that it has incorporated red Brembo brake kit. “Overall, the turning lends a ‘sporty air’ that is not found in the regular Santa Fe and aims to give the car distinctiveness on the road,” the company’s press release said. Customers can ask for the changes when ordering their new cars or bring in their existing cars to local Hyundai after-sale repair shops for upgrades.

It said while the model is mainly designed for the domestic market, overseas buyers can request their dealers for similar body upgrades. The prices are:

  • Brembo Brakes Kit (with perforated discs) = 2,4 million won (US $2,260)
  • Body Kit = 1,9 million won (US $1,790)
  • Sport Suspension Kit = 900,000 won (US $846)
  • OZ 19″ wheels with Michelin tires = 2,7 million won (US $2,540)
