Updated with new spy photos including undisguised interior (the car looks like a mini K7/Cadenza)

The Kia K4 is a new China-only mid-size sedan, based on the same platform of the Hyundai Mistra sedan, and ready to take a place between the K3 (Forte/Cerato) and K5 (Optima) after will debut at the 2014 Beijing AutoShow in April 20th.

[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:5px;”]The Kia K4 will be made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture. There will be two engines available at launch: a 1.8 with 146 hp and 175 Nm and a 2.0 with 162 hp and 194 Nm, both engines will be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The latest spy shots shows us a car with a clear inspiration on the K5 (also called Optima in overseas markets) and K7 (Cadenza).

A sporty version with the 1.6 T-GDi engine with 201 hp and 265 Nm is expected to become available in late 2014. The K4 will be inspired by Horki DYK Concept showed at Shangai AutoShow last year (take a look at the photo gallery below). The interior really looks like to the Cadenza’s, with its seems a central clock and for this variant, a small screen.
