Hyundai Motor has today unveiled its first hints about the design of the upcoming All-New Tucson, compact SUV, which will premiere at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, on 3rd March.

Commenting on the All-New Tucson, Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, said: “Our new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally. The All-New ix35 has a bold and athletic presence and a proud stance. Its design is characterised by flowing surfaces, bold proportions, sharp lines and most important our brand signature hexagonal grille.”

The strong, sporty SUV appearance is enhanced by the upright silhouette and sleek character line. At the front, Hyundai’s distinctive chrome-framed hexagonal grille is connected to the headlamp clusters creating a powerful impression.

With more than one million SUV sales in Europe since the introduction of the first Santa Fe in the early 2000s, Hyundai has established its credibility in the SUV segment.

Here you can watch the teaser video, showing the creation of a first design sketch of the All-New Tucson including a design insight from Peter Schreyer.

Judging by the latest spy photos (this one in particular, revealing the front design: http://i.imgur.com/kbUMfSx.jpg), I think it’s safe to say the new IX35 is a smarter looking mini Santa Fe. Current generation looks disproportionate and weird. Wheels are too small compared to the car itself. I hope they rectify that.

I also hope UK gets the same level of kits and engine options as Sportage. Current IX35 in the UK offers small engines only and not much kit.

The current car is beautiful, but a bit too gentle.

They didn’t use the word “Bold” enough – therefore it’s not true.
Had they stated “Bold” just 2 more times it would have magically made it true. Oh Well.
