According to AutoExpress report, the South Korean carmaker will introduce 48V mild-hybrid technology to its current Kia Sportage (when the facelift arrives) as part of a move to meet year to year strict European emissions targets

[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:6px;”]Speaking to Auto Express, Woong Chul Yang, vice chairman of Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D division has confirmed: “For Europe there is demand for mild-hybrid 48-volt technology, so we are working on that for the Sportage and for medium sized SUVs, and we are working on that for future models. This is to meet all those tough CO2 requirements.”

So we can guess that the facelift Hyundai Tucson, which we have spied yesterday, will receive this technology too when the facelift model lands at the market, as Sportage and Tucson are brothers.
