In a few days, Los Angeles Auto Show will be the place where Kia have planned to reveal its 3rd generation Kia Soul but after a few official teasers, the funny box was caught completely undisguised wearing the “Turbo” dress somewhere in Mexico.

After we saw a lot of low quality spy photos and a render from our friend Kksstudio that maybe you don’t liked, today we bring the first real life pictures of the 2020 Soul completely undisguised and in a good quality. What we can see here follows what we have seen on Kksstudio rendering and on official teasers.

Despite the 2020 Kia Soul almost keep the design keys of Soul identity, there some parts thar are completely new, like the headlights that now are separated, with LED day time and Full LED headlights function above, and the indicators and fog lights down (following what Hyundai have done with their SUVs but in the opposite order).

The side of the small crossover features pronounced wheel arches and a red stripe on the side skirts. A piece of black trim that makes the roof seem to be floating, with the “Soul” inscription, completes the new side view.

Surprise came when you look at the back, there are big changes, where Kia have introduced Boomerang-style LED taillights which flow downward into the middle of the hatch and are also connected above giving a finish that remember me some 90’s cars.

Kia will offer a wider range of variants – the ruggedly styled Soul X-Line –will join the LX, EX, S, and GT-Line models, along with the all-electric Soul EV. Gasoline-powered versions will come with a choice of four-cylinder engines: either a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter, or a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine.

The Soul EV’s powerpack will share the same powertrain as the recently debuted e-Niro, with a choice of a 34 or 60kWhr battery, the latter promising a range of 300 miles (485 km). It will boost Kia’s range of EVs to two models.

Stay tuned, its just 4 days to go to LA Auto Show and we will be there to share our first impressions on the new generation Soul.
