Earlier this year we learned that the korean automaker has been preparing a two-door Coupe based on Hyundai Elantra, and rumored to go on sale this fall. And now, a few months later we have the first spy photos of the new coupe.

The 2012 Elantra Coupe will slot in between the Veloster and Genesis Coupe, this last, ready for receive facelift and new features. The Elantra Coupe will share its platform and complete powertrain technology with sedan version, you can expect the model to adopt the 1.8 MPI with 148 horsepower engine and six speed automatic gearbox from the Elantra sedan. Actually, we like dreaming about the 1.6 GDi Turbo with 208 horsepower, but, for the moment, not confirmed yet. Hyundai plans for Elantra Coupe are to make its official in US market debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
