KIA Ray GTO delivers power, not just funky style

Remember the Ray, right? The much loved, boxy-shaped city car developed by KIA for the Korean Domestic Market has just received a new version to join the lineup in early 2013.

The new Ray GTO is fitted to a new 1-liter, turbocharged Kappa engine that produces 106 hp and 14 kgm of torque. This newly designed engine (based on the 1-liter, naturally aspirated Kappa) is mated to a CVT transmission, and certain models (Eco Plus) are equipped with the ISG idling system, which makes the Ray good for a combined fuel consumption of 18.6 km/l (5.37 l/100 km).

Equipment level is good too, with LED front position lamps, rear LED combination lamps, 60/40 folding rear bench, several covered undertrays, all as standard in addition to the already plentiful equipment of regular Rays.
