Hyundai already launched the fourth generation of its Santa Fe SUV around the world, and now it’s time to put our attention on Santa big brother, the Maxcruz or Santa Fe XL, a new SUV 8-seater capable vehicle, making a comeback to a Hyundai Full Size SUV and completing their SUV line up.

As we told you guys before, Hyundai were working on a separated big-sized SUV, a real Veracruz sucessor, larger than the all-new Santa Fe and with a big differences in exterior and interior design, and today thanks to Kksstudio we can have an idea of how this new SUV will look.
Despite until now both models were similar despite the longer wheelbase and rear-end design, for the new generation this will not continue with the bigger brother having a different side & rear design and also a improved interior that takes some elements from Genesis models as we can see on the picture below.
The bigger Santa Fe will adopt the same split design where the daytime running lights sit at the top near the leading edge of the hood and the main projectors form a vertical stack below. This is the new front-end look and has already appeared on the Kona subcompact.
But, on this prototype we can also find a different C pillar, as you can see on the picture below, and a larger rear end that can confirm this is a different than the normal Santa Fe.
A full size SUV came to North America in the year 2007 and it was named Veracruz, initially was based on the Santa Fe model with the option of 7 seats. The Veracruz was later discontinued in 2011 with the exception of South Korea but a year later was completely discontinued and replaced by the 2013 Santa Fe 7 seater (also called Maxcruz).

We don’t know what it’ll be call just yet, but following Hyundai’s pattern of the SUV names like Veracruz from the city in Mexico and Santa Fe from the city in the state of New Mexico and Tucson from the city in the state of Arizona, there might be a chance we’ll see another name to follow the western theme.
From the powertrain side, a 2.2 R-Engine diesel will follow 6-cylinder engine for the US-market as well as a Hybrid version like with the Santa Fe.
