According to Hyundai Motor officials, both models will begin mass production at the Ulsan 3 plant from mid-May. The hybrid model shares the powertrain with Ionic, and the N-line will replace the existing Avante Sport.

The new Avante Hybrid was featured in an online public event in Los Angeles, US last month. President of the Hyundai Motor Research and Development Division, Albert Biermann, announced that the new Avante Hybrid would combine a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a system output of 139 horsepower and a 32kW electric motor.

“Hybrid models use a completely independent structure of multi-link suspension to improve ride quality and handling.”

The new Avante N line is equipped with the same 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine as the previous Avante Sport, and a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual transmission. The current Avante Sport has a peak output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.0 kg.m, but the new car is expected to have improved performance.

Apart from that, a high-performance N model will be unveiled next year. The 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine previously applied to Veloster N, and the 8-speed wet DCT and 6-speed manual transmission are promising.

On the other hand, the new Avante, which entered domestic sales from the 7th, is characterized by a 3rd generation platform and advanced convenience and safety features. In particular, the ‘Parametric Dynamics’ theme was applied to the exterior design to pursue a future-oriented sense.
