Genesis GV60

While Genesis tried to continue working on the final stages of its first dedicated EV, the GV60, today we have first leaked pictures courtesy of our colleague WoopaTV. What do you think?

What we know so far?

The Genesis GV60 is expected to hit the showrooms at the second half of this year so we could expect a debut within the next months while being revealed sometime this month. We don’t know who took this pictures, but we’re sure it will lost the job if case Hyundai investigate the incident. This is not the first time, the same happened with the GV80 exterior design.

Based on the same platform (E-GMP) as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6, the Genesis GV60 will not only stand out through its different design but also by delivering a more powerful battery and an increased motor performance.

Codenamed as JW, the Genesis version is the one spotted on these photos and is going to be first dedicated Genesis electric vehicle. The Genesis JW EV is a crossover SUV that will reach the showrooms during the second half of 2021.

This prototype we spotted of the electric SUV Coupe has the camera side mirrors and we can also spot the screens for the camera mirrors on the photos which are the same as the ones used in the IONIQ 5. I would have expected the screens to be more integrated at least for Hyundai’s luxury brand model, but maybe this is a way to keep them bigger and easier to look at.

The Genesis GV60 electric crossover is currently being developed with a focus on the reinterpretation of luxury EVs, and it is expected that innovative UX (user experience) will be implemented (you can see a glimpse in the picture above), such as applying the latest function upgrades through enhanced connectivity services and new biometric technologies that enable communication with the driver.

Hyundai Motors explained, “The Genesis exclusive EV will be positioned as an electric vehicle with a higher level of performance and sensibility compared to the Ioniq 5” “Genesis will be transformed into a top-tier EV brand.” they added.
