While two days ago we showed you up a look inside the Genesis GV60 EV, today we have noticed thanks to our colleagues at Cochespias that the first dedicated electric crossover had suffered a massive leak of its interior. Due to it’s still in prototype form, the car pictured in the cluster and IT is the G80.

The Genesis GV60 is expected to hit the showrooms at the second half of this year so we could expect a debut within the next months while being revealed sometime this month. We don’t know who took this pictures, but we’re sure it will lost the job if case Hyundai investigate the incident. This is not the first time, the same happened with the GV80 exterior design.

Based on the same platform (E-GMP) as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6, the Genesis GV60 will not only stand out through its different design but also by delivering a more powerful battery and an increased motor performance.

Codenamed as JW, the Genesis version is the one spotted on these photos and is going to be first dedicated Genesis electric vehicle. The Genesis JW EV is a crossover SUV that will reach the showrooms during the second half of 2021.

This GV60 prototype has the same rotary selector as we’ve seen in the Genesis X Concept

This prototype we spotted of the electric SUV Coupe has the camera side mirrors and we can also spot the screens for the camera mirrors on the photos which are the same as the ones used in the IONIQ 5. I would have expected the screens to be more integrated at least for Hyundai’s luxury brand model, but maybe this is a way to keep them bigger and easier to look at.

The Genesis GV60 electric crossover is currently being developed with a focus on the reinterpretation of luxury EVs, and it is expected that innovative UX (user experience) will be implemented (you can see a glimpse in the picture above), such as applying the latest function upgrades through enhanced connectivity services and new biometric technologies that enable communication with the driver.

Hyundai Motors explained, “The Genesis exclusive EV will be positioned as an electric vehicle with a higher level of performance and sensibility compared to the Ioniq 5” “Genesis will be transformed into a top-tier EV brand.” they added.

This car is a disappointment inside and out. After a string of design home runs, Genesis dropped the ball big time on this one.

Let’s wait for the official release. What we are currently looking at could be a base trim.

Maybe, but for me personally I’m not a fan of the shapes they’ve used. I don’t understand why auto manufacturers think that green vehicles need to be funky and different. I would have preferred a more traditional interior, similar to what KIA has done with their upcoming EV.

@@disqus_b6rJdbQkcM:disqus tbh, Phil’s right. This is a disappointment. I would have thought that Genesis would change the screen layout but no, it’s the same screens that you find in the Ioniq 5 AND EV6. I need something like what’s in the 2022 EQS. That is one of the best if the best screen in the industry. Come on Genesis.

Is there a rumored release date for the GV60? I heard buzz about a June release a few weeks ago but we’re running out of June.
