Our commitment
Korean Car Blog, LLC is committed to making its website https://thekoreancarblog.com accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard recommended by the U.S. Department of Justice under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), and the UK Equality Act 2010.
Conformance status
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform — typically older articles migrated from the previous WordPress site (2011–2026) where some images may lack descriptive alt text or older embedded videos lack captions.
What we do for accessibility
- Semantic HTML: headings, landmarks, lists, and buttons are rendered with their proper HTML elements so screen readers can navigate efficiently.
- Alt text on images: editorial images get descriptive
alt text. Decorative images use empty alt (
alt="") so screen readers skip them. - Keyboard navigation: the entire site (navbar, search, cookie banner, comments, language switcher) is reachable and operable with keyboard alone (Tab / Shift+Tab / Enter / Escape).
- Color contrast: body text and UI controls meet WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI).
- Focus indicators: all interactive elements have visible focus rings.
- Responsive layout: reflows correctly at 320 px width and supports 200% zoom without loss of content (WCAG 1.4.10).
- Reduced motion: we respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query — animations are minimised for users who request it. - Forms: all form fields have associated labels and clear error messaging.
Known limitations
- Legacy article images: approximately 5% of images in articles published before 2024 may have generic alt text or filenames as alt. We are migrating these progressively.
- Embedded YouTube videos: closed captions depend on the original video. We prefer videos with captions but cannot guarantee them for all embeds.
- Third-party AdSense iframes: Google AdSense advertising content is outside our direct control. Google publishes its own accessibility commitments.
Assessment approach
We assess accessibility through a combination of automated tooling (Lighthouse, axe-core) and manual testing. We do not currently have a formal third-party accessibility audit; if you represent an accessibility-focused organisation interested in conducting one, please contact us.
