Revealed for the first time in December 2019, KIA is already finishing the K5 facelift according to the latest pictures of the pre-production model captured by ShortsCar. This time our colleagues captured the K5 GT, the top of the range and sporty model that will also receive some updates, like new wheels, new dual exhaust pipes as well as the new design implemented in the K5 range.
Captured near Hyundai-Kia R&D Center, the K5 GT facelift was spotted heavily camouflaged so it is difficult to see differences. Despite that, it is easy to see the new headlights and taillights design differences that affects the main part of the design, or even the new wheels.
Talking about the powertrain, we don’t expect many changes compared to the currently line-up despite a small fine-tuning to make the engines more efficient and probably adding a higher density battery pack to increase the electric range on the K5 hybrid model.

As for the inside, looking at the upcoming KIA facelifts, we can expect to use the same curved dual display applied to the latest Kia models that was premiered by its big brother, the K8. It is difficult to know when KIA plans to release this facelift but we don’t expect it before Summer 2024 in South Korea, with European and US-spec models arriving by end of 2024.
