Genesis JW EV

While two days ago CarPIX captured the Genesis JW EV Crossover prototype in Europe, today its time to take a look to a more production ready JW vehicle captured this time in South Korea, with production lights and an optional roof rack, what do you think?

After that Kia will follow with the CV and of course there will also be a Genesis version using the same E-GMP platform. Compared to its brothers, the Genesis model will premiere the wireless charging for the first time.

Codenamed as JW, the Genesis version is the one spotted on these photos and is going to be first dedicated Genesis electric vehicle. The Genesis JW EV is a crossover SUV that will reach the showrooms during the second half of 2021.

As we can see the Genesis features such as the split dual-design head lights and rear lights are also coming with this EV model that seems to be aiming for the compact electric crossovers such as the Audi Q4 e-tron, the BMW iX1 but also the Tesla 3/Y and Polestar 2.

Together with the roof rack, another production detail of Genesis JW EV is the chrome stripe all around the windows and windshield

This prototype also features the camera side mirrors instead of the conventional side mirrors, something we haven’t seen on earlier prototypes. We recently shared the specifications of the Ioniq 5, so we can expect that Genesis variant copy-pasted at least the minimum specs from its brother from another mother.

Clearly obviating that the Genesis JW EV will have a superior quality, and a premium oriented interior, the maximum range should be around 500-550 km. Inside, a good pair of widescreens will be sure a part of the standard equipment. Also a modular interior taking advantage of the skate platform will be a key.
