Our folks at Drive Australia tasked famous Avarvarii designer to imagine how a Kia Sportage GT high-performance version could look.

The fifth generation Sportage are already available (or will be available soon) in several markets around the world, in two configurations, short wheelbase and with GT-Line option, and long wheelbase and X-Line/Gravity trims.

Despite Kia didn’t said a word about the possibility of a GT version of the All-New Sportage, the idea won’t be crazy. Currently several automakers like Volkswagen, Peugeot, Cupra had high performance SUVs.

For the rendering, Avarvarii have added more aggressive front and rear bumpers as well as a dual exhaust pipe with a total of 4 outlets. Borrowed EV6 alloy wheels completed the updates together with Kia’s Runway Red colour.

For the powertrain and as we have seen, the most powerful engine allowed in this 3rd gen platform used for Tucson, Sonata, K5 or Santa Cruz, is the 2.5-liter Turbo with 290hp matted to a 8-speed wet DCT, so this is what could we expected.

What do you think?
