Revealed for the first time in November 2021, the South Korean luxury brand is also preparing the Genesis Electrified GV70 facelift according to the first spy pictures of an Electric GV70 captured by our colleagues at HealerTV. This prototype shows new headlights graphics, similar to the G90, new bumper design back and forth and new alloy wheels.
Captured inside a parking lot in South Korea, the updated Genesis Electrified GV70 was spotted heavily camouflaged so it is difficult to see differences. We cannot appreciate any bigger differences that affects any part of the design as this is probably in an early stage of development.
Talking about the powertrain, we don’t expect many changes compared to the currently line-up despite a small fine-tuning to make the engines more efficient and probably adding a higher density battery pack to increase the electric range on the Electrified GV70 model. Probably like with the GV80 facelift, the diesel will be discontinued in favor of a mild-hybrid (MHEV) option.
Current Electrified GV70 features an all-wheel drive dual electric motor powertrain that delivers a powerful 360kW (490 hp) combined output, which in combination with the 77.4kWh battery provides an impressive range of 283 miles (455 km). Thanks to the use of cutting edge 800-volt architecture, Electrified GV70 requires just 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% using a 350kW rapid charger.
As for the inside, looking at the upcoming GV80 facelift, we can expect to use the same 27″ inch OLED display that will be premiered by its big brother. It is difficult to know when Genesis plans to release this facelift but we don’t expect it before Summer 2024 in South Korea, with European and US-spec models arriving by end of 2024.
