The all-new Hyundai Tucson has been spotted on a highway in Florida. Our reader Derek sent us these photos of a test car wearing a matte dark gray wrap, giving us a good look at the new SUV on American roads.
Unlike the prototypes we saw earlier this year, this one has no camouflage pattern at all. The full wrap hides the paint color, but the production design is clear to see.

What The Photos Show
Rear lights: the full-width light bar and vertical taillights of the new Tucson, with the Hyundai logo above the bar and widely spaced TUCSON lettering below.
Test equipment: a tow hitch receiver under the rear bumper and roof crossbars on top.
Side steps: running boards along the sills.
Manufacturer plate: the car carries a manufacturer license plate, which is commonly used on test vehicles.
Badges: there are small badges on the tailgate, but they are too far away to read.

Why It Matters For The US
We have already seen a US-spec Tucson captured in the wild, and Hyundai plans to build the new model in Alabama, with production starting before the end of 2026. A test car driving on Florida highways suggests that development for the American market is still under way.
The tow hitch is also interesting, as towing is an important feature for many buyers in the US. Hyundai has not confirmed the trim, the powertrain or the towing capacity of this car.
Our Take
There is not much left to hide on the new Tucson, but these photos are a nice reminder that it is getting closer to US showrooms. Thanks to Derek for sending them our way. If you spot a Korean car prototype, send us your photos and we may feature them on the blog.
