The All-New Genesis G80 is already on sale in South Korea and it received the most intense consumer interest on its local market reaching 6,729 pre-orders in just 15 days. Genesis was fine tuning the U.S Spec version and today our colleagues at KindelMedia captured it completely undisguised for the US-market.

Genesis G80: A Legacy of Luxury and Performance

The G80, first introduced in 2008 and evolving through its second generation in 2013, played a pivotal role in the launch of the Genesis brand in 2015. With the G80’s name adoption in 2016, it has sold over 400,000 units globally, contributing significantly to Genesis’s cumulative sales of over one million vehicles. This model has been a cornerstone in the brand’s global market presence, combining luxury with impressive performance.

The Third Generation G80: A Blend of Design and Technology

Launched in March 2020, the third-generation G80 embodies Genesis’s commitment to “Athletic Elegance” in automotive design. This model has received global acclaim for its superior design, driving performance, and customer service. With its recent update, the G80 has further enhanced its sophistication, featuring intricate and opulent exterior details, a luxurious interior with high-tech elements, and a suite of convenient and safety features.

Exterior Design: Refined Elegance

The G80’s design evolution includes a refined bumper and lamp design, enhancing its elegant and dynamic style. The front features a sophisticated crest grill with a dual mesh structure, emphasizing the harmony between advanced technology and luxury design. The side profile boasts newly applied 5 double-spoke 20-inch wheels, suggesting motion akin to spinning propellers, while the rear adopts a future-oriented design with a V-shaped chrome trim and hidden mufflers.

Inside, the G80 showcases a horizontally oriented layout that amplifies the sense of space, complemented by high-tech elements for a luxurious experience. A unified 27-inch wide display merges the cluster and infotainment system, offering customizable split-screen options. The center fascia features a seamless design with touch-type climate controls and a crystal electronic shift dial, enhancing both the tactile and visual luxury.

Enhanced Convenience and Safety Features

Genesis has equipped the G80 with the latest in convenience and safety, including a 3-zone+ climate control, Digital Key 2, an in-car fingerprint authentication system, UV sterilization in the console armrest storage, and heated console armrests. Moreover, the model has introduced a new posture memory system for the passenger seat, ensuring maximum comfort and convenience.

Powerful Performance with Supreme Comfort

The G80 is available with two engine options: a 2.5 turbo gasoline engine and a 3.5 turbo gasoline engine. The 2.5 turbo offers 304 horsepower and 43.0 kgf·m torque, while the 3.5 turbo engine boasts 380 horsepower and 54.0 kgf·m torque. The vehicle features optimized suspension bushings and a frequency-responsive shock absorber to elevate ride comfort.

G80 Sport Package: Athletic Design and Dynamic Performance

The G80 also offers a Sports Package, emphasizing a sporty design and enhanced performance. This package includes a distinctive front grill, an extended air intake grill, and a new bumper and diffuser design at the rear. It also incorporates exclusive features such as an E-LSD, active rear-wheel steering, Michelin summer tires, and a Sports+ mode.

Pricing and Availability

It is unkown when the new Genesis G80 will arrive into the U.S market. But having the recently released GV80 in mind, it took two months from the start of sales in South Korea until it the US-spec model was showcased on behalf of LA Auto Show.
