Ich mag es nicht, solche Artikel schreiben zu müssen, aber leider ist es wahr. Kia hat sich entschieden, keinen Optima Kombi (basierend auf dem Kia SportSpace Concept) auf den Markt zu bringen.
Als der südkoreanische Autohersteller das Kia Sportspace Concept im März auf dem Genfer Autosalon enthüllte, herrschte große Aufregung in den Medien und bei den Kia-Fans – und nicht nur bei ihnen – angesichts der Möglichkeit, dass dieses Konzeptfahrzeug in Serie gehen könnte.
Die schlechte Nachricht kam vom US-Ableger von Kia. Orth Hendricks, Vizepräsident für Produktplanung bei Kia Motors America (KMA), sagte gegenüber Auto Guide während der New York Auto Show: „Wir haben uns das angesehen. Es ist ein wunderschönes Auto und offensichtlich eine große Sache in Europa, vor allem weil man dort Kombis liebt.“ sagte er.
„Allerdings kam das Unternehmen zu dem Schluss, dass das Kia Sportspace Concept mit dem Sorento überschneiden und nicht genügend Käufer anziehen würde, um die Produktionskosten zu rechtfertigen.“ fügte er hinzu.
Okay, heute ist also ein schlechter Tag, findet ihr nicht? 🙁
Der Hyundai IONIQ 9 ist mit einem 110,3-kWh-Akku ausgestattet und bietet eine WLTP-Reichweite von bis zu 620 km. Das Fahrzeug unterstützt ultraschnelles 350-kW-Laden, mit dem der Akku in nur 24 Minuten von 10 auf 80 Prozent aufgeladen werden kann. Der IONIQ 9 ist das erste Hyundai-Modell, das die NACS-Ladebuchse (North American Charging Standard) serienmäßig integriert. Zudem ist das Fahrzeug mit Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) ausgestattet, das eine bidirektionale Energieversorgung ermöglicht.

4 KommentareHi Kia lover, well the thing is, with the current optima prices on my hand, a future Optima wagon well equipped and with 150 hp probably cost 35.000€, while for the same price you have a Sorento. Its sad, but is what the people wants, SUVs.
As an estate, it isn't so much a loss as even the Europeans are moving from wagons to small CUVs, but Kia needs to make the front end of the Optima more like that of the Sportspace for its MCE (as well as the rear/taillights); and further down the road, the basic greenhouse shape for the Sportspace should be used for the next gen Sorento (just giving it a bit more glass as needed for a CUV).
Conflicting report from Drive.au dated the 2nd stating that the Sportspace has been greenlit for Europe and that Kia Australia is pondering it.
That's a shame. The SportSpace was the first Kia that ever got me excited. I guess my next vehicle won't be a Kia afterall.
