Instantly recognizable yet thoroughly fresh, Kia will introduce the all-new 2016 Kia Optima SX at the upcoming New York Auto Show on April 1st at 1:20 PM.
Available with multiple engine choices, the all-new Optima features a more spacious interior, class-up premium features and a number of technologies not previously offered on Kia’s best-selling mid-size sedan. #KiaOptima #NYIAS.
First impressions from our followers are that Kia lose his identity, fail updating its best selling model, it looks like to Toyota Camry design. We prefer to wait until we can see more pictures, but yeah, the front end looks close to the japanese model…
The South Korean spec model will be revealed in April 2nd at Seoul Motor Show.
While we get more info and pictures, we are interested to know your opinion so be free to text us by the comments box or using Facebook comments. On the pictures you can see 2016 Kia Optima SX US-spec model.
Thanks for the tip J! 😉

I’m not so sure about this one imo. Something seems kind of off, especially with the rear 3/4th and rear end. Specifically the D pillar, really dislike the way its get super thin towards the roof. The tail lights could have been straightened a little too. Maybe it’ll look better in person though.
Not just a poor render now huh guys?
Very true. It’s so accurate that I would presume it might be a leaked sketch than an amateur rendering. I have to admit, I HATED that rendering. Front angle made it look flat and boring. Also the low budget look of the headlights felt very out-dated. It looks a lot better in real life with redesigned headlight and 3D mesh grill. If only we could have those fancy fake LEDs in SportSpace concept… that would have been awesome.
All in all very good design. But it seems to me that the rear lights are a little bit too much lengtened. The rest is awesome. But as i am a sporty wagon fan, like most people in europe too, i think the rear end will be perfect.
KIA forever
I really like the new design…it appears the model in the pictures posted is a more sporty model with a slightly more aerodynamic front end…I’ll be at the NY Auto Show to see it in person…the round LED fog lamps IMO are a very cool touch.
It might be the 2.0t model.
Well, korean reports said its 1.7 diesel 7-speed dual clutch transmission
Hi Jeff! The model you saw in the pictures is for the South Korean market, we are not sure if it will be available in the US, because the first one on the red picture is SX model for the US and I’m sure that this sporty kit will not be on the LX and EX models, maybe Kia use this kit into the US-market for a future SXL model.
I like this.
Hyundai and KIA are now focusing on surface contrasts instead of creases.
