The paddock at Spa-Francorchamps is currently electric following the surprise reveal of the Genesis G90 Hyper Intervention Vehicle Concept. Unveiled at the Genesis booth ahead of the 2026 TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa, this high-performance shooting brake has sent shockwaves through the endurance racing community.
While the "Wingback" concept previously hinted at a more versatile flagship, the Hyper Intervention Vehicle is its aggressive, track-ready alter ego. Developed under the Genesis Magma Racing banner, this concept swaps executive poise for raw, high-performance capability.
Performance & Design: The Magma Influence
The vehicle is finished in a striking "Magma" orange-to-red gradient, a signature colorway for Genesis’s performance sub-brand. Key design highlights include:
Aerodynamic Overhaul: A massive front splitter, aggressive rear diffuser, and a roof-mounted light bar signal its role as a rapid response or intervention vehicle.
Center-Lock Wheels: Wrapped in high-performance rubber, the multi-spoke wheels suggest serious mechanical upgrades beneath the skin.
Widebody Stance: Flare-arched bodywork accommodates a widened track for superior stability at high speeds.
The Mystery Under the Hood: What is that Sound?
The most intriguing part of the reveal wasn't just the visuals. A video surfacing from the track captures the vehicle’s cold start and idle, and the sound is far from your standard luxury sedan.
What could the engine be?
The acoustic profile suggests a high-output internal combustion engine, potentially featuring:
A Twin-Turbo V6 Evolution: A highly tuned version of the 3.5L unit found in the standard G90, possibly augmented with an electric supercharger or hybrid system.
