Hyundai Motor is set to begin mass production of its highly anticipated semi-large sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Palisade Hybrid, with an official release scheduled for the second quarter of this year. This development has generated significant consumer interest, as the hybrid model has already demonstrated strong demand during pre-sales.

Production and Manufacturing Expansion

According to industry sources, Hyundai Motor commenced the construction of a new Palisade production facility at the Ulsan 5 Plant, 1st line, on February 25, with work scheduled to continue until March 2. Additional facility upgrades at the Ulsan 4 Plant are set to begin next month, further reinforcing Hyundai’s commitment to ramping up production capacity.

In a significant move, Hyundai’s labor and management teams jointly attended the Palisade Open Event at the end of last year. This collaboration underscores a rare level of cooperation between both parties, which is expected to accelerate production efforts and possibly lead to an earlier-than-expected rollout.

Unprecedented Demand for Palisade Hybrid

The Palisade Hybrid has emerged as a dominant choice among consumers, accounting for approximately 70% of pre-contract orders out of the 33,567 reservations recorded on the first day alone. Despite being priced around 6 million KRW ($4,500 USD) higher than the gasoline variant, consumer interest remains strong, highlighting the growing appeal of hybrid technology in the SUV market.

Advanced Hybrid System & Performance

One of the major highlights of the 2024 Palisade Hybrid is the integration of Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid system, making its debut in this model. Hyundai has revealed that the Palisade Hybrid will feature a maximum output of 334 horsepower and an impressive range of over 1,000 kilometers per fuel tank, setting a new benchmark in efficiency and performance.

Consumer Expectations & Market Impact

The Palisade Hybrid is poised to become one of the most sought-after SUVs of 2024. This reflects a clear shift in consumer preference towards hybrid models, driven by rising fuel costs and environmental awareness.

With its enhanced hybrid technology, extended driving range, and strong pre-sale performance, the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid is well-positioned to lead the SUV market in the coming months. As Hyundai finalizes production, excitement continues to build for the official release of this game-changing vehicle.
