The Kia K2/Rio represents the next phase in Kia’s strategy to better satisfy customers in various regions of the world by developing and marketing products that reflect local tastes and needs, like China or Russia.

The styling draws cues from the Kia Optima (K5 in China) and his sales started in June. Kia also offer a five-door hatchback version since August. It was developed with Dongfeng Yueda Kia, Kia’s joint venture partner. It will be equipped with either a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter “Gamma” four-cylinder engine mated to a manual or automatic transmission, with 109 and 122 horsepower.

I think this version is WAY better than the American version… why does the American version have to look so bubbly and crappy?

I question myself the same, i like more this Chinese version. The US-spec Sedan front looks like a egg, and the rest of the car is very different. Instead, this Rio is more “armonic”.
