All-New Hyundai Tucson XRT Teased: First Look at the Rugged 5th-Gen Front Fascia

Following the global design debut of the fifth-generation All-New Tucson, Hyundai has shared the first official look at the rugged, adventure-oriented Tucson XRT. The newly teased front end showcases a markedly tougher, more aggressive interpretation of Hyundai’s "Art of Steel" design language, purpose-built for outdoor enthusiasts and trail adventures.

A Tougher, Armor-Inspired Front Fascia

While the standard fifth-generation Tucson emphasizes clean architectural lines and sleek indirect lighting, the Tucson XRT shifts the focus toward rugged protection and trail presence.

  • Exclusive Rectangular Front Grille: The XRT trades the standard vehicle's softer mesh for a wide, blocky rectangular grille architecture that visually widens the front track.

  • Reinforced Front Skid Plate: An expansive, heavy-duty skid plate integrates directly beneath the lower bumper, signaling enhanced underbody protection and giving the SUV a planted, ready-for-anything stance.

  • Forged Carbon-Inspired Textured Cladding: The front wheel arch cladding and lower protective trim feature a bespoke texture inspired by high-pressure forged carbon composites, delivering a raw, technical finish unlike conventional black plastic garnishes.

  • Darkened Exterior Accents: True to the XRT identity, the front profile receives dark-tinted trims and blacked-out detailing that contrast against the bodywork.

Expanding the XRT Family to New Markets

Originally popular in overseas markets such as North America on models like the Santa Fe and Palisade, the 5th-generation Tucson marks the official expansion of the rugged XRT sub-brand into broader global territories, including Hyundai's domestic Korean market.

Beyond the teased front end, the full Tucson XRT package will feature:

  • Adventure-Ready Exterior Kit: Heavy-duty rear bumpers with matching skid plate protection, dark alloy wheels, black daylight opening (DLO) window surrounds, and dedicated XRT badging.

  • Durable Cabin Appointments: Custom XRT-patterned upholstery, dark metal accents, all-weather 1st- and 2nd-row floor protection mats, and an integrated touch-activated LED utility lamp in the tailgate for nighttime gear loading.

  • Class-Leading Foundation: Built upon the lengthened 2,785 mm wheelbase and 4,700 mm overall length of the newly redesigned platform, ensuring ample cargo capacity for camping gear and outdoor equipment.

What to Expect Next

Hyundai is slated to release the full technical specifications, powertrain options, and market availability for both the standard All-New Tucson and the Tucson XRT in the coming weeks.
