The most grueling endurance race on the planet is back. From May 14–17, Hyundai Motorsport N will take to the legendary Nürburgring in Germany to compete in the 24H Nürburgring. With a field of approximately 150 cars and a track spanning 25.378 kilometers, the stakes have never been higher for the N brand.

The Ultimate Testing Ground

Since its inception in 1970, the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring has earned its reputation as the “Green Hell.” Combining the terrifying Nordschleife with the modern Grand Prix circuit, the track forces drivers to navigate variable weather, high-speed sections, and dense traffic through the dead of night.

For Hyundai, this isn’t just a race; it is a laboratory. The brand is fielding three major entries across two distinct classes to prove the reliability of their current and future performance technology.

The 2026 Hyundai N Lineup

Hyundai is bringing a mix of championship-winning experience and experimental hardware to the 2026 event:

  • ELANTRA N TCR (#1): Competing in the TCR class, this car features a veteran lineup including Mikel Azcona, Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck, and Nico Bastian.
  • ELANTRA N1 RP (#2 & #3): Two “Race Prototype” vehicles will compete in the SP4T class. These cars serve as the primary testbeds for Hyundai’s next-generation powertrain technology.

A Legacy of Endurance

Hyundai’s commitment to the Nürburgring dates back to 2016, when they first fitted a prototype 2.0T Theta engine into an i30 test vehicle. That successful finish paved the way for the i30 N and the global expansion of the N brand. This year, the team looks to continue that tradition of “race-proven” performance, ensuring that every N car sold in showrooms can handle the limit.

The main race begins on May 16. Follow along as Hyundai Motorsport N attempts to conquer the Eifel forest once again.
