US-spec Sportage to be Showcased on October 27th

Kia America just released a teaser image of the upcoming 5th generation Sportage for the North American market and confirmed it is set to be digitally premiered next Wednesday.

The US-spec Kia Sportage will be based on the Korean-spec model, so it will have the long wheelbase and the design will be different from the mode recently launched into the European market.

Sure it will have a similar powertrain as the Hyundai Tucson, with a 2.5-liter GDi naturally aspirated engine as an entry model.

After that, first-ever Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid powertrains will reach the Sportage family. These engines had a total output of 230 and 265 hp respectively, with Plug-in model reaching aprox. 30 miles of pure electric range.
