Next-Gen Powertrain: TMED-II Architecture and 245 Horsepower
The next-generation Tucson Hybrid transitions to Hyundai Motor Group’s upgraded TMED-II (Transmission Mounted Electric Device II) hybrid system. Pairing an upgraded 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an advanced electric motor and high-efficiency battery, the new setup delivers notable gains over both its predecessor and pure-combustion variants:
Total System Output: Delivers 245 horsepower and roughly 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque.
Performance Gains: Generates 27% more power and 43% more torque compared to the standard gasoline powertrain, resulting in faster 0–100 km/h acceleration.
Efficiency Boost: Delivers up to 43% better fuel economy than the pure-ICE model, targeting around 40–41 mpg combined.
Refined Motor Control: The TMED-II configuration features a new P1 motor integration for reduced idle vibration, smoother engine clutch transitions from pure EV to hybrid mode, and faster gear shifts.

Alongside mechanical upgrades, the all-new Tucson Hybrid introduces dedicated electrification hardware and digital cockpit enhancements:
