Hyundai has started rolling out a new over-the-air (OTA) software update for Pleos Connect, its next-generation infotainment system, on The New Grandeur in South Korea. Announced on October 30, the update adds a door lock button and a new gear display to the driving screen, shows engine RPM on the slim instrument display, gives each drive mode its own cluster graphics and makes the Gleo AI voice assistant smarter.
The update is reaching Grandeur owners in stages. The all-new Avante (launched in August) and the all-new Tucson (record day-one pre-orders), both launched recently, already get these features from the factory.
A One-Touch Door Lock Button
This update focuses on the functions drivers check or use most often on the move. The first is a new door lock button on the Driving Info screen: a single tap locks or unlocks every door.
A New Gear Display And RPM Readout
Until now, the Driving Info screen only showed the current gear. After the update, a gear selector window pops up every time the driver shifts, showing P, R, N and D with the selected gear highlighted. A gear widget on the slim display, the ultra-wide instrument panel that sits above the center screen, now also shows engine speed (RPM).

Cluster Graphics That Change With Each Drive Mode
The slim display now changes its look with the drive mode. Each mode gets its own speedometer font and background, so drivers can feel the car's character at a glance. In Hyundai's images, one mode uses a clean font over a teal glow, while the sportier mode switches to a bold italic font over red graphics.

Gleo AI Gets Smarter Search And Messaging
Gleo AI, the large language model (LLM) voice agent developed by 42dot that debuted on The New Grandeur (Gleo AI unveiled), also gets several new features based on customer feedback:
Route-based search: ask for a place by voice while driving, and Gleo AI looks for nearby options along your actual route.
Results sorted by distance: for places where proximity matters most, results are automatically listed from nearest to farthest.
On-device text-to-speech: Gleo AI can read your text messages aloud on a voice command, processed inside the car.
Rear-seat restrictions: phone and message voice commands are blocked from the rear seats to prevent accidental use. Gleo AI already knows which seat a voice comes from.
Cars That Keep Improving After Delivery
Hyundai says this update targets convenience features customers notice in everyday driving. The brand plans to keep expanding the in-car experience on Pleos Connect, with more software updates based on customer feedback and real-world use, so its cars keep evolving after they leave the factory.
Our Take
When we tested Pleos Connect in the Grandeur (our hands-on test), we liked its smartphone-style interface and modular widgets. This update is small, but it shows the real advantage of a software-defined platform built on Android Automotive: Hyundai can refine the car after delivery, without a trip to the dealer. Next on our wish list is the English version of Gleo AI, which Hyundai and 42dot told us will arrive with Pleos Connect's overseas launch.
