Tucson N Line

We already have said that we need to settle with the Tucson N-Line, a Tucson high performance N is not happening. As we said the new Tucson N-Line (NX4) will be equipped with a 2.5-liter Turbo and 290 hp, because Tucson is not a track driving car, so it will not have N version. Now we can have an idea of how aggressive will look.

What we know so far?

You need to be more careful about information extracted from Cafe’s about future cars. For example with the All-New Carnival, all the Cafe’s said they have exclusive info about that will have AWD and Hybrid powertrain. What happened? The model was released with no trace of these features.

So the All-New Tucson is already launched and confirmed the engines that we were talking about. In South Korea, only a improved 2.0 R-Engine CRDi diesel engine will be available. This improved CRDi engine increases fuel efficiency and improves noise and vibration. The gasoline turbo model is equipped with a SmartStream G1.6 T-GDi engine such as the Sonata Sport. This engine is equipped with a continuously variable valve duration (CVVD), and has a maximum output of 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.0 kgm. This engine will be a part of the hybrid model.

The hybrid is the same as the new Sorento or Santa Fe, with a total output of 230 hp. And now what it is still not yet officially confirmed is the N-Line, that will have the 2.5 T-GDi, which will be applied to the Tucson N-Line. It has a maximum output of 290 horsepower and a maximum torque of 43.0 kgm. So like with the Sonata and as we said before, Hyundai will finally just made N-Line for Tucson, not a high-performance N.

The new Tucson uses the new 3rd generation platform. The new 3rd generation platform focuses on improving the safety during collision, enhancing driving performance, and reducing the weight as well as a better and lower center of gravity. As the new platform is applied, the body size and wheelbase are expanded compared to the existing Tucson, so now allows the SUV to compete against more rivals that have grown like Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav-4.

The exterior is largely applied to the design elements of the Vision T concept car, such as a grille with a geometric pattern, a hidden signature lamp, an angled side wheel arch, a newly designed wheel, and a rear lamp connected to the left and right. The horizontal bar connected to the rear lamp also lights up, and the turn indicator light comes down to the bumper.

Unlike the traditional SUV interior, the new Tucson interior is changed to wrap around the driver. The basic layout is similar to the Indian strategic SUV Creta. It features a horizontal dashboard with a wide monitor, a four-spoke steering wheel, electronic gear buttons and a slim air vent. The Tucson N-Line should arrive next year, remember that in some countries (except South Korea) it won’t be available until 2021. Stay tuned!
