After the launch of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Hyundai Motor America PR-Manager Miles Johnson says that Hyundai is studying about a “performance-focused” version of the 2015 Genesis.

[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:5px;”]The all-wheel drive HTRAC system is offered in the all-new Genesis, but only in combination with the V6 3.8-liter engine. but that might change. Company’s spokesman Miles Johnson says “our V8 5.0-liter Tau engine could be combinated with our new all-wheel drive system, HTRAC. Additionally, Hyundai’s most powerful engine could get a power boost to create a “performance-focused” Genesis and probably receive the R-Spec nickname”.

Johnson didn’t say if that model will benefit from a power increase over the 420 hp in the rear-wheel drive V8 Genesis, but Hyundai promises that the new chassis is much stiffer than before. The brand claims a long list of performance enhancements for the new generation in general like improved lateral grip thanks to a reduction in camber angles for 23 percent less tire tilt. Stay tuned!
