All-New Hyundai Tucson Redefines the Compact SUV: Design, Dimensions, and Next-Gen Tech

All-New Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai has officially pulled the curtain back on the all-new Tucson, raising the bar for the global C-segment SUV market. Guided by Hyundai Motor’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy, the redesigned Tucson combines an imposing exterior presence with a high-tech, living-room-inspired cabin that transforms daily driving.

Bold Architecture: The 'Art of Steel' Design Philosophy

The all-new Tucson commands attention through pronounced, muscular fenders that emphasize structural tension and rigidity. Crisp character lines balance restrained door surfaces to project an athletic, modern silhouette.

Key design and dimension highlights include:

  • Expanded Dimensions: The Long Wheelbase (LWB) model measures 4,700 mm in length (+60 mm), 1,905 mm in width (+40 mm), and 1,685 mm in height (+20 mm), paired with a 2,785 mm wheelbase (+30 mm).

  • Enhanced Access: Door opening angles have expanded from 73° to 83°, significantly improving passenger entry and child-seat installation.

  • Architectural Lighting: Up front, H-Edge lighting blends indirect center illumination with sharp edge elements. At the rear, 3D Prism Rear Lamps create a floating, high-tech signature.

  • Micro Pixel Lighting (MPL): An available 25,600-pixel LED matrix enables precision beam patterns, rain guides, and animated welcome/farewell sequences.

  • Nature-Inspired Palette: Exterior paint finishes feature multi-tone shifts, including Ranger Green Pearl, Kodiak Blue Pearl, Driftwood Gray Metallic, and Red Rock Orange Pearl.

Interior Comfort: Furniture-Inspired Cabin Architecture

Inside, the cabin breaks away from conventional cockpit clutter, prioritizing minimalist ergonomics and residential comfort.

  • Two-Layered Dashboard: A horizontal upper deck provides visual clarity, complemented by a deep open utility tray below.

  • Ergonomic Controls: A sleek Double D-Cut steering wheel is paired with a 9.9-inch slim display mounted directly on the steering column. Critical climate and audio functions retain tactile physical buttons beneath the primary display to reduce cognitive load.

  • Shift-By-Wire (SBW) Lever: Relocating the gear selector to a column-mounted stalk frees up center console real estate for dual 15W Qi 2.0 wireless charging pads and hidden storage.

  • First-Class Seating: Front occupants can take advantage of an available Ergo Motion Seat with a 7-cell pneumatic massage system and a 4-link Relaxation Comfort Seat offering a one-touch 10-degree recline.

  • Advanced Climate Comfort: The Multi-Air Mode System diffuses air smoothly across main, multi, and floor vents to avoid harsh drafts. An available 13.5V Metal-Coated Heated Glass provides wire-free windshield de-icing in 15 minutes while reflecting 60% of summer solar heat.

Next-Generation Connectivity: Pleos Connect & Gleo AI

The digital hub of the all-new Tucson runs on Pleos Connect, powered by Android Automotive OS (AAOS).

Drivers interact with an available 17-inch or 12.9-inch touchscreen display backed by Gleo AI—an agentic in-car voice assistant capable of natural context comprehension. Users can speak casual commands such as "Find a hiking trailhead with parking within 30 minutes" without wading through nested menus. Built-in apps operate natively without requiring phone tethering, and over-the-air (OTA) updates continuously enhance vehicle features over time.

Safety and Powertrain Flexibility

Underpinning the chassis is an extensive application of hot-stamped, high-strength steel and reinforced center pillars. Active safety features include:

  • In-Cabin Monitoring Unit (ICMU): Tracks eye activity and drowsiness to alert fatigued drivers.

  • Occupant Protection: Child Presence Detection (CPD) and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) prevent accidental heat-stroke incidents.

  • Level 2+ Driving Support: Features Navigation-Linked Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA).

Under the hood, conventional gasoline variants feature a spirited 1.6T-GDI engine producing up to 190 ps and 27.0 kgf·m of torque, fitted with an Integrated Electric Water Pump (EWP) for improved thermal efficiency.

Market Availability

The all-new Tucson launches in Korea in late 2026, followed by releases in North America, Europe, and global regions throughout 2027.
