From Hyundai, a car that mimics mom: ‘You need some fresh air’

Automakers spend lots of effort trying to limit carbon tailpipe emissions these days. With the redesigned 2015 Genesis, which arrives in the second quarter of 2014, Hyundai wants to cut CO2 levels inside the car caused by exhaling passengers.

Hyundai says drivers can get drowsy when carbon dioxide levels rise above 2,500 parts per million. A system debuting on the Genesis will monitor CO2 levels in the cabin. When they hit potentially sleep-inducing levels, the car’s HVAC system automatically brings in fresh air from outside.
