Hyundai Confirms All-New Global B-Segment SUV in Major Next-Gen Product Offensive

Hyundai Motor Company has officially confirmed that an all-new global B-segment SUV will arrive as one of seven key model launches scheduled over the next eight months. Announced during the 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul, the compact utility vehicle plays a frontline role in the brand’s rapid product offensive, targeting high-volume urban crossover segments across major international markets with an advanced modular platform, modern electrified powertrains, and cutting-edge digital cockpit technology.

A Unified Global Compact Strategy

Behind the scenes, this all-new global model aligns directly with prototype test mules recently spotted undergoing road testing under internal project designations.

With this new program, Hyundai is executing a playbook similar to what sister brand Kia accomplished with the Seltos: developing a single, robust, highly adaptable global platform rather than fracturing development across completely different regional models. Under this strategy, the new vehicle will effectively unify and succeed both the Kona and the Creta on a singular global baseline.

• Nameplate Continuity: Because of tremendous brand equity, customer trust, and market appreciation, Hyundai is widely expected to retain the beloved Creta nameplate in key regions like India and Latin America, while badging the vehicle as the Kona or a dedicated global moniker in North America and other mature markets.

Spy footage and development leaks reveal that the all-new compact crossover will offer class-above comfort and driver-assistance features:

• Connected Digital Cockpit: Houses dual 12.3-inch panoramic curved displays running Hyundai's next-generation Pleos Connect platform, offering continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates and intelligent AI voice integration.

• Interior Packaging: A column-mounted Shift-by-Wire gear selector frees up space on the floating center console, creating extra storage below for daily essentials.
