Hyundai Motor Company’s first high-performance electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 N is expected to be able to drive about 360 km on a single charge…in South Korea according to the Ministry of Environment. According to the same source, the IONIQ 5 N has a new battery with 84 kWh (remember the current IONIQ 5 model has up to 77,6 kWh).

For reference, Kia’s high-performance electric vehicle EV6 GT has been certified for a mileage of 342 km and a low temperature of 311 km on a single charge but with a battery with a capacity of 77.4 ㎾h.

Based on the four-wheel drive system, the high-performance electric N model produces a maximum output of 478 kW (650 horsepower, when boost mode is activated) and a maximum torque of 770 Nm (78.5 kgf m, based on boost mode). It is also equipped with technologies dedicated to high-performance electric vehicles, such as a dedicated high-output battery and a high-performance EV-specific thermal management control system.

It reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds, beating the 3.5 seconds of the EV6 GT. The top speed is 260 km/h.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Company already certificied the vehicle in South Korea, which a system that usually gives a little bit less kilometres of range compared to the WLTP system. So it is expected that in overseas market the IONIQ 5 N could reach 400 km of range (around 250 miles).

Hyundai Motor Company plans to release the IONIQ 5 N before the end of this year.
