Hyundai Motor Company officially launched the 2026 Sonata “The Edge” on September 29 (Monday), beginning full-scale sales of its updated midsize sedan in the Korean market. This latest Sonata model introduces a new S trim, enhanced standard equipment across all trims, and expanded digital personalization options to strengthen its market appeal.
New S Trim Adds More Value
Hyundai has added a new S trim to the 2026 Sonata lineup to reflect customer preferences for popular features at a practical price point. Positioned above the entry-level Premium trim, the S trim comes standard with:
- 12.3-inch digital cluster and navigation
- Blind-spot collision-avoidance assist (forward exit support)
- Highway Driving Assist
- Front ventilated seats
- Dual full automatic air conditioning
This configuration provides a balanced mix of safety, technology, and comfort features to deliver strong overall value.
Upgraded Standard Equipment Across Trims
The Premium trim now includes the following as standard:
- Forward collision-avoidance assist (junction and oncoming vehicle support)
- Smart cruise control with Stop & Go
- ECM room mirror
- Trunk lid lighting
The Exclusive trim gains more advanced safety and convenience technologies, including:
- Remote smart parking assist
- Surround View Monitor
- Blind-spot view monitor
- Side parking distance warning
- Rear parking collision-avoidance assist
At the top of the lineup, the Inspiration trim now features Nappa leather seats and metal pedals as standard, emphasizing premium comfort and design.
Digital Display Themes via Bluelink
For the first time, Sonata owners can purchase and download custom display themes for their digital cluster and infotainment system through the Bluelink Store. A special “Sonata 40th Anniversary” theme has also been introduced, showcasing iconic Sonata models from previous generations.
