Hyundai Santa Fe Facelift Spied in South Korea

기아 쏘렌토가 3월 제네바 모터쇼에서 데뷔할 예정인 가운데, 오늘은 형제차인 싼타페 페이스리프트의 새로운 사진이 한국에서 포착됐다. 개발에 박차를 가하고 있는 모습이다.

지금까지 알려진 내용은?

현대차그룹의 전동화 라인업은 2019년 24개 모델에서 2025년까지 44개 모델로 확대될 예정이다. 여기에는 하이브리드 13개, 플러그인 하이브리드 6개, 배터리 전기차 23개, 수소연료전지차 2개가 포함된다.

올해 그룹은 전동화 모델 판매를 더욱 강화해 기아 쏘렌토, 현대 투싼, 현대 싼타페 등 베스트셀링 SUV 모델에 하이브리드 및 플러그인 하이브리드 변형을 추가할 예정이다.

현대차는 싼타페에 페이스리프트를 도입할 예정이며, 업계 소식통에 따르면 이는 신형 그랜저처럼 풀 체인지에 가까울 것이라고 한다. 그랜저의 경우 동일한 플랫폼이 예외적으로 사용되었지만 휠베이스도 늘어났고, 일반적인 페이스리프트가 단순한 외관 변경에 그치는 것과 달리 디자인도 대대적으로 변경됐다.

싼타페는 현대 SUV 판매의 절반 이상을 차지하는 매우 중요한 차량이다. 따라서 플래그십 SUV로서 내연기관, 하이브리드, 플러그인 하이브리드 등 다양한 파워트레인으로 출시될 예정이다. 이전보다 커진 휠베이스는 차체 크기를 팰리세이드와 유사하게 만들 수 있다.

싼타페에 일반 하이브리드와 함께 플러그인 하이브리드를 추가하는 것은 잠재 소비자에게 좋은 소식이다. 감마 1.6 T-GDI 가솔린 엔진과 전기모터를 결합한 하이브리드 파워트레인은 기존 디젤 및 가솔린 엔진을 유지하면서 그대로 남는다.

또한 대용량 배터리를 적용해 연료 소비를 크게 줄이는 플러그인 하이브리드 파워트레인도 탑재되며, 싼타페 하이브리드는 가솔린 엔진과 전기모터의 조합이다.

    The refreshed Santa Fe must be just months away given all the prototypes that have been caught driving around. It seems rather rushed, considering that it has been on the market for only two years, but it seems it is being forced into an early refresh with the extremely positive reception of the high quality Palisade, and the upcoming Tucson. It was reported by Autoblog that designers "benchmarked the bigger, more expensive Santa Fe when they selected the materials that will be used to build the Tucson", so hopefully this will have the Santa Fe benchmark the Palisade. Looks like we won't have to wait too long to find out.

    I currently have a 2 Hyundai/Genesis vehicles and am really looking forward to owning a PHEV SUV. Toyota is coming out with the Rav4 Prime this summer with really good electric range and 305hp combined. That makes it look pretty attractive. I recently test drove the normal gas variant Rav4 and it it a very nice vehicle. That being said, I do like my current Santa Fe and I think the AWD system that Hyundai/Genesis incorporates is superior to the system used by Toyota. As long as the Santa Fe has decent electric range, I will continue to purchase Hyundai products. As much as I like my G70, I will likely end up with the PHEV Santa Fe and the hybrid (or PHEV if it's available) Santa Cruz in my garage.
