After our trips into Ulsan and Alabama plants, today is the turn for another Hyundai facilities, the Asan plant. Asan is a fully self-sufficient factory that produces 300,000 units of mid- and large-sized cars annually for strategic export. (more…)
As Hyundai Motor’s main production facility, the Ulsan Plant is comprised of five independent plant facilities on a land spanning 5,000,000 square meters. The plant is the world’s largest single automobile plants and employs over 34,000 personnel to produce an average of 5,600 vehicles a day.
It takes twice as long on average — over 28 hours — for Hyundai Motor Co. to make a car in South Korea than in the United States, even though its domestic plants have far more workers for each production line. (more…)
