Hyundai Motor released on January 26 the refreshed i30 that features a new design and improved powertrain. The newly-released i30 is mounted with a new diesel engine and a seven-speed dual clutch.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]Based on Hyundai’s brand philosophy “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0,” its front design employs a single frame grille, while the side design focuses on giving a splendid feel by using 16-17-inch aluminum wheels.
The new i30 is also mounted with a smart navigator with Bluelink 2.0, and TPMS as basic options.
The diesel model features a combination between a new four-cylinder 1.6-liter VGT engine and a seven-speed DCT. The new engine complies with the Euro 6 standard which has strict restrictions on the level of greenhouse gas emissions. By adding the ISG function that stops engine operations when the car is standstill, the new model boasts an improvement in fuel efficiency.
It has a maximum output of 135 horsepower and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg.m, an improvement of 6 percent and 15 percent, respectively, compared to those of previous model.
Sound like a great upgrade. I’m a Cee’d owner and I can honestly say that the only thing that makes Golf a better choice than my car is VW’s engines and gearbox. In terms of options and practicality (and even looks), KIA is the winner. If I wanted the equivalent level of gadgets and gizmos in a Golf, I’d have to pay at least 40% extra. I can understand a little bit of difference. But +40% is unjustifiable.
I’m glad to read that you’re a happy owner of a cee’d. I’m a owner of a first-gen 2007 Kia cee’d, and it’s nice how this car works giving any headache. Luckily, the facelift cee’d scheduled for September this year, will include the same powertrain like the facelift i30.
