Not long ago, Albert Biermann, president of HMG’s R&D headquarters said that the company were already working on a high-performance N EV. Today during the launch of the Elantra N he have shared more details. Rendering courtesy of Avarvarii.

During online World Premiere of the All-New Elantra N, Mr. Biermann emphasized that the high-performance N brand will be reborn as an electrificated brand and there’s more.

“Hyundai Motor Group’s electric vehicle platform E-GMP has tremendous potential,” said Albert Biermann, president of Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D headquarters, who attended the live event in South Korea. “The first electrified N model will be based on E-GMP.”

“I am looking forward to the day when many N brand fans will be shown the new cornering evil.” “It will be very exciting to run the Nürburgring with an E-GMP EV that has undergone a specialized development process for N.”

According to Mr. Biermann expectations, the E-GMP based N model could put many internal combustion vehicles in trouble. “In certain corners, E-GMP N may overwhelm high-performance cars with internal combustion engines.”

Talking about future vehicles he hints how excited he is about some sketches of future cars he have seen. “I couldn’t hide my excitement when I saw the sketches that Sang Yup Lee, Executive Director, (Hyundai Design Center) showed me recently.”

During the event he also talked about the hydrogen-electric hybrid car, caught recently in form a Stinger, Hyundai have built up to 5 prototype only for development purposes. The prototype has around 650 – 700 hp and has a fuel cell driving the front axle and a big battery pack driving the rear axle.
