Hoy queremos compartir con vosotros nuevas fotos espía del Kia Sportage 2016 (con código QL) gracias a nuestro seguidor Jimbo ;).
Los últimos informes sitúan el debut en septiembre, unos meses después debido al lanzamiento del nuevo Tucson.
El nuevo Kia Sportage 2016 se asemejará mucho al diseño mostrado en el Kia KX3, exclusivo para China, especialmente en el frontal. En el interior, el Sportage seguirá lo que ya hemos visto en el nuevo Sorento. Según el informe, el equipo de diseño de Kia ya ha terminado el diseño del Sportage.
En el frontal de este prototipo podemos ver una parrilla delantera tridimensional Tiger-nose más grande entre nuevos faros envolventes y luces LED en cubitos de hielo, como en el nuevo Sorento o el pro_cee'd GT, pero al mismo tiempo, Kia utilizó la misma solución en el K5 Modern añadiendo un LED esférico triple en los faros. En la parte trasera, los nuevos pilotos traseros LED se combinarán con luces de marcha atrás e intermitentes separadas, como en el modelo actual.
En cuanto a la gama de motores, la transmisión de doble embrague de 7 velocidades estará disponible en el lanzamiento junto con una selección de motores de gasolina con inyección directa y diésel, además de pequeños motores turbo. En el lado del diésel, el mejorado 1.7 CRDi de 131 CV podría ser el más deseado en el mercado europeo. En cuanto a los motores de gasolina, el 1.6 GDi será el motor base, mientras que una variante turbo ofrecerá más potencia para la versión europea. Sobre un nuevo motor turbo pequeño, el 1.2 T-GDi que entrega 132 CV aún no está confirmado.
La gama para Corea del Sur se reducirá a 1.7 CRDi disponible con DCT de 7 velocidades y motores diésel 2.0 CRDi, además de un motor 2.0 T-GDi.

I would like to know what this Niro prototype is all about. There are rumours about a hybrid chubby Ceed. There is also the possibility of it being a less ugly KX3. C pillar looks like KX3. But I'm hoping its front grill will have a redesign for Europe. We'll find out in a few months.

The best looking KIA front ( and anything else) at the moment is the new Sorentos front. It has the most beautiful headlights showing beauty and seriousness at the same time. That kind of fronts is what KIA needs for all the other models. And then look to KIAs top ranking in terms of selling figures
Kia designers probably wanted to do something different, but the Sportage will go from being one of the best looking smaller CUVs to one that is polarizing.
Couldn't agree more. I've been planing to upgrade my new Ceed to either the 2016 Sportage or the new Tucson. I would have loved to stay with KIA. But I'm worried that the new Sportage will be a Porsche knockoff rather than the original and unique SUV that it is today. I'm so glad the new Tucson looks the way it does (mini Santa Fe). Will leave the final decision until I see the next Sportage up close. But I'm not holding my breath.
As i already wrote here: Even your posted picture of the Rio JBs front looks better then the new Optimas front and of course the KX3 front.

Change the grill to the "tiger-nose" and the new Tucson would pretty much look like a Kia.
