Hyundai Motor is set to release a refreshed Veloster with the idea of targeting young consumers in their 20s and 30s. The car maker launched the official sales of “The New Veloster” on January 16 in South Korea.

The new Veloster is mounted with the world’s first engine sound adjustment feature which allows drivers to adjust the level of engine sound. By using the engine sound equalizer, the driver can create his own sound category which can be comprised of six different sounds.

The new Veloster features a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline (T-GDi) and at this time, delivering finally 204 hp (in Europe this engine offers 186 hp) and a seven-speed double clutch transmission (DCT) as we told you two months ago in an exclusive article. New alloy wheels design, speedometer, a new silver trim for the front grille or three color available new sporty seats complete the updates list.

We got some spy shots of the new pro_ceed, so it'll happen soon.

LePapirrikY thanks for the update. When Hyundai first launched this car I really wanted it to succeed. But now it seems that they are content to let the production run to its cycle and make no major improvements to Veloster. So unfortunate.

When I saw the concept model I disliked it but when the production model came out i changed my mind. The big problem with the veloster is the engine, the 1.6 was definitely not the right engine for it. If only hyundai gave the 2.0 as n/a and 1.6 for turbo, I believe this model would pick up sale really quick. Of course that would been a "problem" for the Genny but since later the genny got rid of the 2.0 engine, I think it was too late for the veloster because sales were going down already. Hopwfully no but this might be the last production of the Veloster. IMO

I have a few concerns and questions about the Veloster refresh. 1. Suspension: Was this revised and upgraded? 2. What is the torque output in relation to the horsepower rating and at what RPMs does the engine deliver the most optimum power?

Looking at Hyundai's Korean website, RPM engine deliver are the same (1750-4000) and torque is 27kg/m that it's the same than 195lb/ft you can see at Veloster Turbo specs page at Hyundai USA. About the suspenssion, they only said that the car comes with sport suspension, but anything about if its tuned from the original.
