Scooped: 2013 Hyundai Tucson/ix35 facelift [Updated]

Updated with new spy pictures caught at the Hyundai-Kia Technical Centre in Germany

Judging from these images, Hyundai is already working on what will be the Tucson facelift. Based on what we can see in these images, the refreshed ix35 (this is how it is known in many other markets) includes new front grille suspiciously similar to his latest models, like the i30 or the most recent Santa Fe.

For now, we do not know if the korean automaker will include new engine or merely updates the currents. The current model sold in the U.S with two petrol engines (2.0 and 2.4 four-cylinder with 165 and 176hp), while in Europe are available with three diesel engines (1.7 with 115hp and 2.0 CRDi with 136 and 184hp) and the gasoline direct injection (GDi) 1.6-liter, with 140hp. Seems like it's going to follow it's older brother, the Santa Fe/iX45. Anyway, isn't it a little early for a facelift?

Its smaller than the santa fe and like the headlights and the side lines are about the same as the ix35. Also it was out in 2009, for 2013 the tucson facelift its alright

I like the proportions of the 2013 ix45 Santa Fe much better. This thing, on the other hand, still looks like a big jelly bean on wheels "cute yute". Basically, the wheels/wheel arches are placed too low and too small in relation to the rest of the vehicle. Again, to see how proportions are handled more effectively, see the ix45 or even the new Mazda CX5.
