Hyundai Motorsport N has firmly cemented its legendary status in the TCR category at the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. For the 2026 edition of the grueling endurance marathon, the Korean manufacturer leaned into a high-stakes strategy, entering a single, solo vehicle in the class for the first time since 2018. The gamble paid off spectacularly as the #830 Hyundai Elantra N TCR crossed the finish line to secure an incredible sixth consecutive class victory.

Facing the Volatile Eifel Weather

The star-studded driver lineup of Mikel Azcona, Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck, and Nico Bastian brought a wealth of Ring-won experience to the cockpit. This expertise proved vital as the 25.378km Nordschleife threw its trademark chaos at the grid, ranging from sudden, torrential rain squalls to slick oil patches on track during the treacherous night stints.

Despite an early scare when a rival car caused contact at the Xiaomi corner, the #830 Elantra sustained no critical damage. The team’s mechanical crew performed flawless, rapid pit stops, allowing the drivers to maintain a relentless, crushing pace at the front of the TCR field.

The 2026 Hyundai N Lineup

Hyundai is bringing a mix of championship-winning experience and experimental hardware to the 2026 event:

  • ELANTRA N TCR (#1): Competing in the TCR class, this car features a veteran lineup including Mikel Azcona, Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck, and Nico Bastian.

  • ELANTRA N1 RP (#2 & #3): Two “Race Prototype” vehicles will compete in the SP4T class. These cars serve as the primary testbeds for Hyundai’s next-generation powertrain technology.

A Legacy Sealed

By flying solo and taking the checkered flag under such unforgiving conditions, the #830 crew proved that the Elantra N TCR remains the undisputed benchmark for touring car endurance racing. Six consecutive years of dominance at the world's most demanding racetrack reinforces the engineering strength, reliability, and sheer performance that define the Hyundai N brand.
