There has been rumors about an EV version of the Kia Soul for a longer time and now we have been able to snap, thanks to our spy photographers, the first photos of an Soul EV prototype while out testing around Hyundai-Kia R&D Center.
Previous reports have indicated that the Soul EV will become “the very-first electic vehicle to be sold in the global market, including the US, Europe and China.” The Kia Soul EV will have a battery that is good for 200 km/124 miles on one single charge.
We have no info yet about how much power the electric engine will deliver but the top speed is rated at 140 km/h (87 mph) and the sprint up to 100 km/h (62 mph) will take just under 12 seconds. Sales are expected to start during the first half of 2014 (MY2015 for the US) at a price of 27.500 euros ($ 35.000) probably before tax credits.
