Spy shots of the new Kia Rio give us a teaser of what is to come in the future.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]The 3rd generation Kia Rio has been going strong since 2012 with it’s sleek design, great MPG, and overall value. We noticed the new model has a few new changes to an already attractive design.
Exterior
On the exterior, there seems to be some new twists on the front and rear of the car. The front seems to have gotten a face-lift with the front bumper and fog lights redesigned. Furthermore, the front design seems to have a little inspiration from Forte. The rear also has been updated with a new rear bumper, and possibly a different spoiler, since they masked it all the way to the top. On the side view, we see that Kia did a few changes by replacing the black plastic door panel alongside the B-pillar of the car with a fully painted replacement.
Interior/Performance
Based on the side view shoots it looks like the interior may be two toned which may be on the EX and SX models. In addition, the Rio still has a 4-lug bolt pattern giving us the impression that it will continue to have the 1.6GDi motor that gives the Rio it’s character and good mileage. However, we can only wonder if they may have upgraded the motor to the 1.8 to add more bite.
