Hyundai Motor s'apprête à lancer une version restylée de la Veloster, avec l'idée de séduire les jeunes consommateurs de la vingtaine et de la trentaine. Le constructeur a officialisé la commercialisation de « The New Veloster » le 16 janvier en Corée du Sud.
La nouvelle Veloster est équipée de la première fonction d'ajustement du son moteur au monde, permettant au conducteur de régler le niveau sonore. Grâce à l'égaliseur de son moteur, le conducteur peut créer sa propre catégorie sonore, composée de six sons différents.
La nouvelle Veloster reçoit un moteur essence 1,6 litre turbo (T-GDi) développant cette fois 204 ch (en Europe, ce moteur offre 186 ch), associé à une boîte double embrayage à sept rapports (DCT), comme nous vous l'annoncions en exclusivité il y a deux mois. De nouvelles jantes en alliage, un compteur de vitesse retravaillé, une garniture argentée pour la calandre avant et trois coloris de sièges sport inédits complètent la liste des évolutions.
Les prix de vente en Corée du Sud sont de 19,95 millions de wons (environ 18 550 $ US) pour la version Unique, 20,95 millions de wons (19 480 $ US) pour la version PYL et 21,55 millions de wons (20 040 $ US) pour la version PYL DCT.

Looking at Hyundai's Korean website, RPM engine deliver are the same (1750-4000) and torque is 27kg/m that it's the same than 195lb/ft you can see at Veloster Turbo specs page at Hyundai USA. About the suspenssion, they only said that the car comes with sport suspension, but anything about if its tuned from the original.
Yeah but no news on when it will be happening.

LePapirrikY thanks for the update. When Hyundai first launched this car I really wanted it to succeed. But now it seems that they are content to let the production run to its cycle and make no major improvements to Veloster. So unfortunate.
When I saw the concept model I disliked it but when the production model came out i changed my mind. The big problem with the veloster is the engine, the 1.6 was definitely not the right engine for it. If only hyundai gave the 2.0 as n/a and 1.6 for turbo, I believe this model would pick up sale really quick. Of course that would been a "problem" for the Genny but since later the genny got rid of the 2.0 engine, I think it was too late for the veloster because sales were going down already. Hopwfully no but this might be the last production of the Veloster. IMO
