Hyundai Motor Group has officially announced AllDayEnergy, a unified global energy brand designed to consolidate its Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) services. By bringing its innovative energy ecosystem under a single identity, the Group aims to deliver a seamless, trusted experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners worldwide.

With AllDayEnergy, an EV transforms from a simple mode of transportation into a dynamic, mobile energy storage system capable of powering homes, balancing grid demand, and reducing overall electricity costs.

What is AllDayEnergy?

AllDayEnergy is Hyundai Motor Group’s global service framework connecting EV batteries directly with homes and broader electricity grids.

Through advanced bidirectional V2X technology, energy flows both ways—allowing electricity to move into the vehicle during charging and back out when needed. EV owners can charge their vehicles during off-peak hours when electricity rates are lowest, then use that stored energy to power their household or supply it back to the grid during peak pricing periods.

By unifying these capabilities under the AllDayEnergy umbrella, Hyundai Motor Group is setting a global standard for smart energy management.

Core Services Under the AllDayEnergy Portfolio

AllDayEnergy integrates three primary energy management solutions:

  • V1G (Smart Charging): Optimizes vehicle charging schedules in real time based on fluctuating electricity prices, local grid conditions, and user preferences.

  • V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid): Allows EV batteries to send excess stored energy back to the power grid, enhancing grid stability and offering potential incentives.

  • V2H (Vehicle-to-Home): Uses the EV battery to power household appliances, optimize residential energy consumption, or act as an emergency backup power supply during unexpected outages.

Proven Global Track Record

Before consolidating under AllDayEnergy, Hyundai Motor Group deployed successful V2X programs worldwide:

  • Korea: Running V2G pilot projects in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

  • United States: Providing critical V2H emergency backup power during extreme weather and major wildfire outages.

  • The Netherlands: Operating V2G and smart charging solutions optimized for dynamic, real-time electricity prices.

Launch Timeline and Global Rollout

The global deployment of AllDayEnergy follows a phased approach, prioritizing initial smart charging features before expanding into full bidirectional energy capabilities:

  • Initial Launch (Q2 2026): The service officially debuts in the United Kingdom via the Kia App, launching first with V1G smart charging functionality.

  • Global Expansion: Rollout will subsequently expand to Europe, the United States, and Korea, incorporating full V2G and V2H capabilities across both Hyundai Motor and Kia digital platforms.

“When we launch AllDayEnergy through our Kia App later this year, we will be taking a significant step towards establishing our identity as a smart energy service provider. We will continue to expand our AllDayEnergy service globally, allowing customers to seamlessly optimize their energy usage, reduce their energy costs, and contribute to grid sustainability.”

How Customers Access AllDayEnergy

AllDayEnergy will be built directly into the official Hyundai Motor and Kia smartphone apps, requiring no additional standalone software. UK customers using the Kia App will be the first to access the platform, followed by expanded availability across European, North American, and Asian markets.

Through a simple smartphone interface, EV owners can set energy preferences, monitor power flow, and track cost savings—making intelligent energy management an effortless part of daily life.
