Hyundai Motor America has officially shook up the high-performance electric vehicle market by announcing a substantially lower starting price for its highly acclaimed 2026 IONIQ 5 N.

For the 2026 model year, the track-ready electric SUV starts at just $59,900 (excluding a $1,600 destination charge). This represents a massive $6,300 MSRP reduction compared to the previous model year, making elite EV performance far more accessible to driving enthusiasts.

High Performance, Now More Accessible

This strategic price adjustment aligns with Hyundai’s broader mission to expand its high-performance "N" brand leadership. By lowering the financial barrier to entry, Hyundai is bringing track-ready performance, cutting-edge software, and everyday usability to a much wider audience.

"Our 2026 IONIQ 5 N is one of the most critically acclaimed models we’ve ever offered," said Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America. "IONIQ 5 N’s exceptional performance, technology, and innovation without compromise is now priced within the reach of even more driving enthusiasts."

What’s New for the 2026 IONIQ 5 N?

Despite the significant price drop, Hyundai hasn't cut corners. In fact, the 2026 IONIQ 5 N introduces several key upgrades, hardware changes, and convenience features that make it an even more compelling package than its predecessor.

1. Seamless Charging with Tesla NACS Integration

The biggest hardware update is the transition to a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, which replaces the previous CCS plug. This native port grants IONIQ 5 N drivers direct access to the vast Tesla Supercharger network across North America.

To ensure complete flexibility, Hyundai includes:

  • CCS-to-NACS adapters for both Level 2 (AC) and DC fast charging.

  • A new dual-voltage Level 1 / Level 2 combination charger included right out of the box.

  • 2. Upgraded N Drift Optimizer

For drivers who love track days, the N Drift Optimizer has received a major software overhaul. Previously operating as a single-mode assist, the system now features ten selectable stages. This allows drivers to precisely tune the level of drift assistance to match their skill level and track conditions.

    3. Enhanced Safety and Convenience

Hyundai has also refined the daily driving experience of this high-performance SUV with several practical updates:

    • Forward Attention Warning: An in-cabin camera system that monitors driver attentiveness to enhance safety.

    • One-Touch Windows: Added auto down/up functionality for the rear passenger windows.

    • New Paint Option: The exterior color palette expands with the introduction of a striking Performance Blue Pearl finish.
