Yesterday we announced how Hyundai didn't surprise us with the announcement of the opening of registration for the All-New Avante 8th Generation "Early Pass" event.
Because the Avante is known globally as the Hyundai Elantra, this official early-access campaign signaled that the global debut of the 2027 Hyundai Elantra is just around the corner. Today, we would like to share with you a very exclusive photo revealing the interior of the All-New Elantra. As we have seen in the recently released Grandeur, it features a new 17-inch centered screen, a smaller, half-rounded, half-squared steering wheel, and a slim cluster just on top of the dashboard.
Design Evolution: A Sharper, Premium Aesthetic
Leaked details from the California spy shots, combined with accurate design renders from automotive design channels like GotchaCars, show that Hyundai is evolving its signature “Sensuous Sportiness” design language into something more upscale.
Aggressive Front Fascia: Despite heavy camouflage on test cars, the next-gen Elantra points toward a deeply integrated grille and headlight layout. Rumors suggest it will adopt a prominent, wide H-Lamp light bar for daytime running lights (DRLs), while the primary headlight modules sit lower down the fascia—a layout reminiscent of modern SUVs.
Retro-Modern Side Profile: Drawing inspiration from its luxury sibling, the Hyundai Grandeur, the new Elantra utilizes a more structured, retro-leaning C-pillar design to elongate the sedan's silhouette.
Sculpted Rear Tailgate: The vehicle features a highly angular tailgate. The signature rear H-Lighting setup is expected to receive a distinct 3D depth update, expanding the visual width of the sedan.

Interior Technology: The Digital Leap
To combat increasing global competition, Hyundai is completely overhauled the interior architecture of the 8th-generation model, abandoning the previous dashboard design for an ultra-modern layout.
Pleos OS & Gleo AI
The 2027 Elantra will serve as a launchpad for the Pleos Operating System. This Android-based platform supports a far wider library of native third-party applications. Integrated directly into the OS is Gleo, Hyundai’s next-generation AI voice assistant designed to interpret complex, multi-step natural language commands.
Massive Screen Real Estate
Hyundai is moving away from the integrated curved displays found in its current lineup. Instead, the driver is greeted by a compact, minimalist 9.9-inch rectangular gauge cluster tucked neatly into the upper dashboard line. The true focal point is a massive 17-inch central infotainment touchscreen that controls almost all primary cabin and climate functions.
Next-Gen TMED-II Hybrid Powertrain
Hyundai is doubling down on its "Hybrid-First" strategy for this generation. The P1 prototype units are actively testing an updated TMED-II hybrid architecture. Engineered to optimize thermal efficiency and power delivery, this system aims to deliver higher fuel economy figures alongside smoother low-end acceleration compared to the outgoing model.
Release Date and Global Launch Timeline
The official South Korean "Early Pass" registration confirms that domestic order books are opening up mid-2026.
South Korea Debut: Mid-to-late summer 2026.
U.S. Market Launch: Production-ready models of the 2027 Hyundai Elantra are projected to land in North American dealerships during the first half of 2027.
